Masters & Heroes - Drew Struzan

What blog about illustration would be complete without an entry about the legendary Drew Struzan. He has illustrated posters and collectables for some of the greatest movies of all time. Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Blade Runner to name a very few. He started out as a album cover artist but was launched to greater things once he landed the Star Wars job.

He is a master of the airbrush and is a true old-school illustrator. No Photoshop or Illustrator here.

I have been a fan of Drew Struzan forever. His technique almost completely defined my style pre and post digital.

Thanks for posting this. I really like the way Guillermo Del Toro describes how Struzan's work made movies feel back in the day.
